The area defined as Rubery is bisected by the county boundary between Worcestershire and West Midlands. Rubery village (yellow on the map below) is administratively the responsibility of Bromsgrove District Council and Worcestershire County Council. The area just outside the village (the pink area), including the Great Park Estate comes under the control of Birmingham City Council but is still referred to as Rubery.
