Rubery nursery filled 157 boxes for Operation Christmas Child

YOUNGSTERS from Jellybabies Nursery and Pre-School have been putting together festive parcels for children less fortunate as part of a charity campaign.

As well as filling 157 shoeboxes with toys for the Samaritan’s Purse’s Operation Christmas Child – the best ever response – they also watched a DVD about the joy the gifts bring to the recipients.

And, once the boxes were full, the youngsters even helped carry them to the waiting collection cars where Stuart, a representative from the charity, told them about the next leg of the packages’ journey.

Jacqueline Walker, the manager of the nursery and pre-school which is based at Longbridge Methodist Church, said: “This is a lovely way for the children not

only to learn about the wider world and children less fortunate than themselves but to actively be involved helping to make other children happy.”
