RUBERY residents of all ages turned out in their droves today (Sunday) to remember those who had made the ultimate sacrifice in the two World Wars and other conflicts over the years.
A poignant service of Remembrance was conducted by Rev Sandy Ellis in the bright November sunshine at the village’s Royal British Legion Club on New Road.
A two-minute silence was held, with the Last Post, Exhortation and Reveille played by bugler Stephanie Cotterill.
Among those in attendance were numerous uniformed organisations, along with Rubery Youth Marching Band which accompanied hymns and then led the parade through the village, down to St Chad’s Church for those who wanted to attend the service there.
There was also a family disco afterwards at the Rubery Royal British Legion Club.
