ST CHAD’S CHURCH LOVES RUBERY!

The congregation of St Chad’s church in Rubery has decided to share how much they love their local area by producing a ‘Hidden Treasures’ map of the local area.

The map includes all sorts of highligh that demonstrate what a good place Rubery is to live, invites you to explore them and to complete some treasure-related challenges! Fancy a day out, how about discovering the local countryside or country parks? Need something to entertain the kids – what about Lizzie’s Farm or the local Skate Park? Think we’ve missed something out? Then share your favorites on our Facebook page facebook.com/stchadsrubery or tweet @stchadsrubery using #LoveRubery

The Hidden Treasures maps are available from St Chad’s Church which is open for Stretch and Balance exercise classes on a Monday and Thursday morning, worship on Tuesday morning, Stay and Play sessions on a Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning or for a free cuppa and a chat on Friday mornings – and of course, it’s open on Sunday mornings for their weekly communion service.

The map project has been developed by church worker Jodie Brown and is part of a bigger initiative called Love Rubery. The people who attend St Chad’s love Rubery and believe that God does too. Talking about the project, Rev’d Claire Turner said,

“Jodie has done a wonderful job in gathering together just a few of the things that people told her were good about Rubery. We hope that by celebrating the good things, we can encourage the community to share good news, work together to make things even better and bless one another as we do.”

Look out for more Love Rubery events and activities over the coming weeks and months – details will also be posted on our Facebook page and on the church noticeboard.
